Brenda and I finally got down to the creek following the recent rains. What a difference! At the start of the walk in the meadow above the creek the theme was yellow.
There are several varieties of yellow flowers, and I have no idea what any of them are, so if you know or have a guess please send me a note.
Our first stop was twin falls which is full again. It looks like the water was 3 to 4 feet over the trail there at the height of the flood. It would be quite a sight if there were any safe way to get there when the water is up.
From there we headed upstream to Sculpture Falls. This is a great time to see the French Mulberrys (American Beauty Berries), and the trail from Twin to Sculpture on the south side of the creek is full of them.
Sculpture falls, our favorite swimming hole, was also full, although the gravel bars have been rearranged.
Brenda and I are planning to swim there this Friday if we can get free. The water looks great and is a perfect temperature.
Maybe we’ll see you there.
