Trip Report

Sangre de Christo Mountains

Sangre de Christo Mountains

Brenda and I just returned from a visit to Santa Fe New Mexico. We lived there in the 1970’s and have always enjoyed visiting. Top on our list of things to do always includes sampling lots of red and green chile at our favorite local restuarants including Tomasita’s, Maria’s, and La Choza. I managed to get in a lot of mountain biking on Santa Fe’s famous Dale Ball trail system.

Together we hiked to Atalaya Peak and several miles up the Aspen Vista fire road. We were a little disapointed that the aspens were just starting to turn. We had hoped for full on golden splendor.

All in all a great trip, but we’re happy to be back to our South Austin creek side home.
